My Picks For Humid-proof; Eye Make Up

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner( Perversion) - $32, Sephora

I really like this as the brush is really fine so you can create almost any eyeliner look with this :)

It is very pigmented and as mentioned it does not fade and flake. ( Super plus points!)

Also, this is my 2nd tube and I have another backup. haha

Definitely my staple :)

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner( Zero) - $30, Sephora

The only eye pencil that will not fade or smudge on me. I've had it for quite some time and it still looks rather new. Foresee it lasting me a long time :) They come in many colours as well, thinking of picking the other colours up as well!

Judging by its stay power, it may seem that the removal process is gonna be tedious. However, they are relatively easy to remove :) They usually come off with my regular oil cleanser.

Clinique Lash Power Volumizing Mascara- $38, Sephora

My life saver!! I've always had other mascaras smudging on me and I HATE IT. Although it does not give me the volume that I want, it does a pretty good job in lengthening and coating my eyelashes. It is waterproof but it can be easily removed with lukewarm water ( As stated on the packaging) I've tried and tested but, it takes a longer timer for it to be removed. So, I prefer using my own eye make up remover to remove it and it comes off relatively easy. Usually I would have to double cleanse. But for something that is SOOOO GOOODDD, it is worth the slight hassle. ( If you are a lazy girl like me haha)

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara- $38, Sephora

Woa, this little guy here is quite pricey. I got mine at the Changi Airport Departure Hall and it retailed roughly around $16-$18, I cant really remember. But I really like how my bottom eyelashes looks with this on. I'll continue purchasing it however, only @ the airport. ( Gonna stock up next time!) 

Opps, I've  forgotten to take a picture of the Urban Decay Eye shadow Primer Potion. But this should do! This retails for $33 at Sephora and as mentioned I do not recommend this.However if you are looking for a primer you can check out Too faced( @ Sephora) and Nars( @Tangs, Orchard) they retail around the same price range as the Urban Decay Primer Potion!

Loreal Infallible Eye shadow- $14.90, Watsons/ Guardian/ Sasa

I am superrrrrr obsessed with the Loreal Infalliable Eye shadows! I literally wear time EVERYTIME I have eye make up on. They make great bases and definitely comes in handy when I'm in a rush. The colour selection in SG is rather limited however I'll make a trip down again to see what I can pick up because I love them that much! haha

High Tea Buffet @ L' Espresso, Goodwood Park Hotel

Hi guys, today I'll be blogging on a more personal level! Made my way to Goodwood Park Hotel 2 weeks ago with my family for high tea. Just what we needed to end the week right ;)

We had 2 complimentary drinks to choose from the drinks selection. I got the ice chocolate & Chamomile tea.

The food selection was kinda limited and they were not replenished constantly, not like the other places that I've been before. Also, they seemed to be rather short-handed. From the selection I knew I would be eating most of the Smoked Salmon. However, it was too salty for my liking. The only food that I did enjoy was this mini deep fried prawn paste burger  and the meatballs. Which seems rather " cheap" to be served at a 5 star hotel. 

The pastries were a let down as well. They just tasted okay only. 

How do I look like if I were to have a bob? haha

All in all, I felt that it was a let down :( The high tea was definitely not worth $45.( BOOOO)

Will not be going there every again. However mummy has plans to have another high tea session at Goodwood but at another cafe!

Review: Clinique Superbalanced Liquid Foundation

I have been on the look out for a replacement foundation as my holy grail foundation from Averine(Satin Smooth Foundation) has been re-formulated and they do not make my shade anymore :(
Initally they had 3 shades and my skin matched the last one but the re-formulated ones only comes in 2 shades.

So I made a list of what I wanted in my foundation in the search for the next " holy grail"

1) No SPF - Most foundations be it liquid/powder/mineral has SPF for the convenience of their consumers. However I'm sceptical about sunscreens nowadays and prefer using my own sunscreen before putting on make up.
2) Skin-friendly Ingredients - My skin has undergone a completely new regime and I do not want to aggravate my skin therefore I wanted a foundation  that contains " skin-friendly" ingredients. ( I usually check up ingredients on http://www.ewg.org & http://www.cosdna.com)

Due to my new regime, my skin was really dry. Especially around my chin and cheeks area however, my T zone remained oily. Therefore it made searching for a new foundation, harder.

After doing my research online, I decided to go with Clinique Superbalanced Liquid Foundation. The foundation claims to be:
 " The smart makeup liquid foundation with adjustable, oil-free coverage provides moisture and absorbs oil when and where needed. Silky upon application."
Coverage: Moderate

 Also, Clinique is well-known for its skin-care line therefore I was more inclined to try their brand out. I purchased it at Sephora at a 10% discount that worked out to be around $48.

Verdict

Let me start of by saying that I HATED this foundation. It did nothing for me. I was disappointed and could not justify paying for it so, I returned it. ( which explains why there are no pictures of the actual product/ or when worn)

Coverage- I applied the foundation with my fingers and there is zero coverage, even when built. The texture of it was quite thick so I would have expected it to provide at least abit of coverage. I have hyper-pigmentation on my cheeks and it did nothing to cover it. However it did help to slightly even out my skin tone. But that can be easily done with a tinted moisturizer.

Claims- I still had some hope that it would at least keep my oil at bay and to not accentuate my dry spots. However, it proved me wrong. My dry skin looked a little scaly when examined under direct sunlight. My nose was not kept matte and I had to blot it 3-4 hours later in the day.

Packaging- The foundation came in a glass bottle and it did not have a pump. Therefore it made it messy and unsanitary when using.

Overall rating:1/5 stars
I think I'm being too nice here lol. But I've read reviews online and it worked for some people. It is also rated 3.5/5 stars on MakeupAlley. At least I got to return it! YAY

Who would I recommend to:
People who have relatively good skin. However I'm pretty sure that there are better foundations out there that does the same and with a friendly price tag. If you are curious about this product I would say why not. However make sure that you are able to return it if all else fails :)

Jeffery Campbell Soiree

I've recently gotten my hands on the Jeffery Campbell Soiree and I am totally loving it! I got this particular one as the nails at the heels are concealed by the black gradient effect.

It retails for $189 at PVS located on the 2nd floor of Cineleisure. I got a size down as the sales assistant told me the suede part of the heels will expand. My right side fitted well however, my left side was going through immense torture the first time I wore it. ( It was to a wedding and I was'nt even walking much). My feet is generally broad and I usually stay away from narrow shoes. However, since suede material tends to break in faster, I decided to bite the bullet. Besides, it was too much of a beauty to let go off  haha.
I am more of a flats person and I would rather choose comfort over beauty, especially when it comes to shoes. It expanded pretty quickly just by stuffing the front portion of the heels. However, after a long day of walking ( my 2nd attempt to break the shoes in). The balls of my feet started to hurt and so did my ankles. I guess I just have to get used to wearing heels.

 I'll definitely be bringing this beauty out more often (but more so when I do not have to do much walking haha)  The sole of the heels are padded which I'm sure w/o, it would have killed my feet a long time ago haha. Also the soles are handmade!

So, I recently went back for my 3rd consultation and was prescribed 3 new products to lighten my scars.Will be reviewing them separately together with my thoughts on my 3rd month journey.

There is a $50 consultation charge per visit. However, when mentioned a certain blogger name while booking an appointment, you will be able to waive off 1-3 times consultation chargers. I managed to waive off 3 consultation charges and saved $150! 

So let's move on to the review!

Foaming Cleanser, $42.80

If you have sensitive lips, you do have to be careful around your mouth area. My lips was kinda irritated by it.

Milk Cleanser, $48.15

I would recommend using an oil cleanser to deep cleanse your skin instead of using a milk cleanser. During the day, oil,dirt and make up gets clogged in your pores. Therefore using an oil cleanser will not only reach deeper into your pores but prevent clogged pores as well :)

Toner, $42.80

This toner acts as a double cleanse and also a gentle exfoliant. However I still need to use a separate scrub every week to thoroughly exfoliate my skin. 

Comedone Formula, $78.11

As you can seen I'm almost out of my CF. The colour of the product is actually yellowish in colour and it has a weird chinese herbal scent to it. I usually get blackheads around my nose and will monitor if there are any improvements.

Max C, $169.06

Woa, I did not know that this was so pricey till I looked up the pricing on it. I suppose if this helps in anti-aging and collagen production it is worth the splurge right? However, I will not really see the effectiveness of it till I'm older. Oh well, will continue to use it around my eye area as well to see if it helps with the appearance of fine lines.

Blemish Formula, $74.90

Some part of my skin dried out from this, however this really does the job. I'm only using this in the day now.

Acne Spot Lotion, $26.50

*HOLY GRAIL*!!!!!

If I do notice that a pimple is starting to develop, I'll use this and the next morning the pimple has either flattened or, it has started to dried out. This product really shortens the development process of pimples! For bigger pimples, usually it would take more than a week for it to recover but now, it only takes around 3 days! 

YAY!!!

Non-Tinted Sunscreen, $62.06

As mentioned in the video, the Non-Tinted Sunscreen is suited for sensitive skin as it is a physcial sunscreen. With the main ingredients consisting of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide.

The cons of it would be, it is a thicker consistency and often leaves a white cast on the face. 

The other sunscreen available in the market is known as chemical sunscreen. It is usually colourless and odourless. However, chemical filters tend to be more irritating to the skin and some may cause skin allergies as well.

However there are many controversies about physical and chemical sunscreens, questioning if they actually do protect the skin against harmful rays or does it in fact worsen it.That, I will not touch on today's topic. But if you are interested to know more, feel free to google it :)

Anti-Blemish Mask, $59.92

For the price that I'm paying for, I guess I will not be repurchasing this mask as I do not feel that it does any additional improvements to my skin. 

My Final thoughts on the products compared to my previous skincare line, Dermalogica, at Aster Spring.

Pricing: Both skincare lines are priced around the same, however some DRX products are slightly cheaper.

Effectiveness: I've seen a difference in 2 weeks while previously my skin condition was not cured even while receiving treatment.

Professionalism: DRX Clinic has certified skin doctors with experiences and knowledge. However, Aster Spring only has beauty consultants and may not have received the relevant education  and when analysing my skin, they may give inaccurate information. ( As mentioned in my previous video, according to them I had sensitive skin)

I will continue to use DRX products and will update on my visits every month. However I'm not too sure if I have to visit Dr Angela in the long run as I feel that my skin has stabilized. Have booked an appointment next Monday for facial at DRX and I'm really excited to try it out! Will keep you guys posted as well :)

Review: Benefit Fakeup, Hydrating Crease-control Concealer

I took the advantage of the Sephora 20% sales event during some time in June and picked up the Benefit Fakeup concealer in shade 02. Medium. I must say the colour selection was pretty limited and they only come in 3 different shades. ( Light, Medium & Deep). The Fakeup Concealer retails for $38 and can be found in Sephora.

This product is marketed as a hydrating crease-control concealer. The outer part of the product contains Vitamin E & apple seed extract that provides hydration and diffuses fine lines. While the centre portion of the concealer provides coverage.

Results shown in a consumer panel survey:

100% said hydrates skin 

100% said feels comfortable on skin

97% said the formula is lightweight

100% said the texture feels silky

94% said the effect is long-lasting

94% said  doesn't run

91% said  conceals dark circles

91% saw a natural appearance

97% said the packaging makes it easy to use 

When swatched on my hand, the undertone of the concealer appears to be on the peach side. However when applied under my eyes, it leaned more to the yellow undertone side.

With the side by side comparison you can see that the coverage is sheer and is unable to cover my brownish dark eye circles.

How I use it:

I usually use this as a base before applying my concealer. However, I do use this alone when I am wearing my spectacle to brighten up my eye area.  Also, I bring this along with me for quick touch ups during the day.

My take on the concealer:

Hydration-  I do not see an improvement on the texture and hydration around my eye area. Also,  I usually prep my under eye area with an eye cream before putting on concealer.

Lightweight, silky & comfortability- The texture of this concealer I would say is light therefore making it feel lightweight on the skin. Also, even though it is a cream concealer, it does not feel tacky nor sticky on the skin when applied.

Long lasting/ doesn't run- Living in a humid country I would say the wear time of this concealer is around 4-6 hours.

Coverage &  natural appearance- The coverage of the concealer on me is rather sheer. However it provides a brighting effect to help diminish the dullness around the eye area and it looks natural when applied.

Crease-control- This concealer does settle into my fine lines. Even by setting it with my Bare Minerals Well Rested setting powder, it still creases. However the creasing is minimal and is not as obvious as other concealers that I have tried.

Packaging- The packaging of the concealer is small and sleek and can be easily stored for touch ups.

Overall rating: 2.5/ 5 stars

I will still continue to use this concealer however, I will not be repurchasing it as it is way too pricey for its results.

Who would I recommend it to:

I would recommend this concealer to people who have slight issues with their dark eye circles or is looking for a lightweight eye brightener.

Extra information: 

• I have tried using this as an eye primer to control the creasing of my eye shadows however, it didn't work. 
• I will try to use it as a highlighter around my face but will stay away from my slightly oily T-zone.
